BENGAL TIGER

When I painted BENGAL TIGER I always knew one day I would love to create an apparel piece to bring it to life again, but wanted to wait until the time was right and the garment was perfect. So when designing the AHA cropped sweater, I knew it was the best place to for it to come alive again, fierce and stylish all in one :)

SNOW LEOPARD

Well what can I say!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE. I painted SNOW LEOPARD when I first started out, and at the time AHA apparel was just a notion, but I do remember thinking, I would definitely wear this painting. So I'll admit, I was very excited to see the first prototype design of SNOW LEOPARD. It was also the first of the designs that we saw, and it wasn't easy to get right. I quickly learned that they had to be printed 3 times in order to capture the colours correctly, expensive, but well worth it :)

WOLF

IN LOVE!!! WOLF was a risky choice when designing the Winter 23 pieces, but once I saw the first designs I was obsessed!!! I wanted the piece to contrast that of BENGAL TIGER to give people a more subtle option, but still scream statement design!!! The blue tone scheme was tricky to get right but the final piece turned out better than I could have ever expected :)

POSH PIG

POSH PIG, or the OG as I like to call her :) She was one of the very first pieces I painted back in California. To me she represented the beauty in everything, and I just love the attitude she took on. I think it is because she is so unusual that so many people gravitated towards her. So when it came to the first designs of my AHA sweater release, I just knew she had to take centre stage once again :)

HOT MESS

I just LOVE her in every way :) I painted HOT MESS for all the women out there to let them know that we are beautiful in every single way and that it doesn't matter if we don't always have it together ALL the time. Life can be tough, and what really peeves me is when the world tells us we have to be, look, and act perfect all the time. No we don't, we are human, and we are all A hot mess :) So I was adamant that she not only belonged on an AHA sweater, but she was given two colours for people to choose from, because that's how we girls do it, some days we like it one way and then the next, another, and that's fine :)

SILVERBACK

SILVERBACK is one of my most prized pieces I've painted, and was incredibly tricky produce on fabric, but we got there :) For Winter 22 I wanted to create the AHA hoody, and it was a challenge, from fit, to fabric weight, to colours, to pocket design. But I knew that SILVERBACK needed a new type of garment to really capture the true nature of this beautiful animal, and our oversized hoody in AHA charcoal embodied everything about the SILVERBACK :)

THE LION

THE LION was one of those pieces that may never be finished. As I painted it, there was always one more whisker, one more shade of colour, but eventually as I stood back, I just knew he was complete. I decided THE LION need his own space to breathe on the fabric, so choosing a warm grey to compliment the detail in colours of his mane was essential :)
